Red River bridge closed for repairs
Beginning Tuesday, July 31, the Kentucky 89 bridge across the Red River at the Estill-Clark county line will be closed to all traffic while repairs are made to the bridge’s neck. The closure will last no longer than Aug. 30. Traffic will be detoured using Kentucky 1958, Kentucky 15 and Kentucky 82 through Powell County. Drivers also can use the Mountain Parkway between Winchester and Clay City.
AARP driver safety course Thursday
The Clark County Extension Service is sponsoring the AARP Driver Safety Program, with a special offer exclusively for teachers and school personnel. This one-time offer for the classroom course is just $5.
The class will be Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Clark County Extension Office.

Free car seat safety clinic offered
Winchester Fire-EMS will give a free car seat safety clinic Thursday in the parking lot at College Park. The clinic begins at 6 p.m.
Fish and Game Club selling hay
The Clark County Fish and Game Club is selling rolls of day hay for $20 per roll. Rolls have been stored in a barn, and not exposed to inclement weather.
