AARP¿meeting correction

The AARP meeting and annual auction originally scheduled for Oct. 26 has been rescheduled for Nov. 1.
The public is invited to the auction at the Generations Center.
In Friday’s edition of the Sun, the location of the meeting was incorrectly identified as the Clark County Extension Office.

Becknerville Road to close for paving

The Kentucky Transportation Department will close KY 3371, or Becknerville Road, on Monday and Tuesday for paving.
The work will be performed from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
The paving work will take place between KY 1927, or Colby Road, and KY 1923, Waterworks Road. Local traffic will be allowed to continue through the area.

Museum plans Halloween event

The Bluegrass Heritage Museum will host a special Halloween event Oct. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the museum, 217 S. Main St.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Costumes are encouraged.

Kiwanis Club chili supper set

The Winchester Kiwanis Club will host a free chili supper Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Clark County Fish and Game Club, Waterworks Road.
The supper is open to the public and anyone interested in learning more about Kiwanis is encouraged to attend.

Leeds to show ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Leeds Center for the Arts, 37 N. Main St., will screen “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” Oct. 26 at 11:59 p.m. and Oct. 27 at 8 p.m.
Admission is $6.
The movie is rated “R” and may not be suitable for children.

Poetry featured at Music Club meeting

The Winchester Music Club will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Belmont Church of Christ, 40 Belmont Ave.
Cecil Garrett is the program sponsor for the evening of poetry. Those who attend are asked to bring a copy of their favorite poem.

City Commission meetings rescheduled

The Winchester City Board of Commissioners will not meet for its two usual meetings in November.
The Nov. 6 and Nov. 20 meetings have been cancelled and rescheduled as a special meeting, which will be held Nov. 13.
This meeting will include the 4:30 p.m special meeting and the 5:30 p.m. regular meeting.
