Madison County crash claims Winchester man

A Winchester man died Thursday from injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident Wednesday in Madison County.

According to a Kentucky State Police report, Roger Coston, 59, of Coffee Springs Lane, died early Thursday morning at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he was taken after the accident, which happened around 4 p.m. Thursday on Red House Road near Stony Run Road.

According to the report, Coston lost control of his 1957 Harley Davidson motorcycle, ran off the road and into a ditch. He was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown back onto the road.

Coston, who was wearing a helmet, the report stated, suffered massive head injuries as a result of the impact with the roadway. He was transported to UK Medical Center by Madison County EMS.
