A new date for the postponed Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation Department’s July 4th Celebration has been set.
The event, which was postponed due to hazardous dry conditions and a county-wide burn ban put in place on June 29, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15, at Lykins Park.
The lineup for the celebration remains the same as before, beginning with the veterans’ dinner and recognition provided by the Fraternal Order of Firefighters.
That will be followed by musical performances by Brad Alford and Saddle Tramp, Resonator and Brittany Means and end with a fireworks show by Zambelli Fireworks.
Times have yet to be determined and will be announced at a later date, according to July 4 Committee member Tim Smith.
“We had been having a lot of people asking when the celebration was going to be, so we just wanted to let everybody know the date and that we are still going to have it,¿“ Smith said. “We are still finalizing a few details and as soon as they are worked out we will announce the times for the celebration.”
The rescheduled event falls between the Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival and the John Michael Montgomery Country Fest.
