The Winchester/Clark County Chamber of Commerce will welcome U.S. Senator Rand Paul to its August Public Policy Luncheon next week.
Paul, Kentucky’s Republican junior senator, is scheduled to speak at the event which takes place at noon Monday at the Clark County Extension Office.
"We hope all Chamber members take advantage of this opportunity to hear from Sen. Paul about the critical issues facing our nation," Chamber Board Chairman John Austin said.
A Bowling Green opthalmologist, Paul is known as a fiscal conservative and tea party affiliate. He is an ardent supporter of balanced budget amendments.
Chamber members and their employees can register for $10 and non-chamber members for $15. A box lunch will be provided. Seating is limited, so reservations must be made by noon Thursday by calling 744-6420.
The event continues a tradition for the Chamber of hosting state and national elected officials. U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and Gov. Steve Beshear were featured speakers at public policy luncheons last year.
"Events like these help Chamber members better understand the issues affecting our community, state and nation, and especially how they impact the business community," Chamber President Cindy Banks said. "It's just another way the Winchester/Clark County Chamber provides value to our members."
The Clark County Extension Office is located at 1400 Fortune Drive in the Winchester Industrial Park.
