The George Rogers Clark cross country teams placed first in the conference meet Saturday morning at Lykins Park.
The title was the sixth in a row for Clark, while the Lady Cardinals repeated for the fifth straight season.
Lydia Gapp led the girls team and was the top finisher in the conference. Gapp's efforts earned her female high school conference runner of the year honors. Team members Genna Petrey, Destiny Hembree, Callie Miller and Heidi Geittmann were named to the all-conference team.
Grayson Brookshire led the boys team and placed second overall with a time of 17:37. Brookshire, along with teammates Ben Petrey, Cody Cox, James Banks and Brandon Bailey were named to the all-conference teams. Brookshire and Petrey were also recipients of the conference 110 percent awards.
In the middle school race, the boys and girls teams of Conkwright swept top team honors. In the boys middle school race, David Ffiske of Clark Middle placed first and was conference middle school runner of the year. J.J. Johnson of Conkwright, along with teammate Cole Hon, were named to the all-conference team. Maxwell Clark of St. Agatha and Jacob Peyton of Clark Middle were also named to the all-conference team.
In the girls middle school competition, Alyssa Gaunce was the top middle school girls runner and named middle school girls conference runner of the year.
Teammates Emma Mork, Loran Smith, Kay-Leigh Gleffe and Courtney Francis were named to the middle school girls all-conference team. St. Agatha placed second in the middle school team final standings.
In the elementary race, Powell County placed first in the boys competition and the Central elementary girls placed first in their field. Clark County Christian placed second in the elementary races.
