The George Rogers Clark High School indoor track team opened its season Monday at College Park Gym.
In a dual meet against Owsley County, the boys team won 54-21, while the girls team beat Owsley, 45-30.
In the boys competition, Aaron Dieck and Darian Farris tied for first in the 30-meter dash.
Clark jumpers Jesse Camp and Nathan Dent placed first in the long jump and triple jump respectively.
In the distance events, Grayson Brookshire placed first in the 800-meter and 3200-meter events, while Ben
Petrey was second in the 800-meters. Owsley County’s Logan Campbell was second in the 320-meters and the boys 4x800 relay team placed first.
In the girls competition, Lady Cards distance runner Lydia Gapp dominated, placing first in the 800-meter, 1600-meter and 3200-meter events.
Gapp also led the girls 4x800 relay team to victory.
In the long jump, Clark’s Amy Polchinski placed first, while teammate Joanna Guerrant won the triple jump.
In the middle school competition Royal Springs Middle School won, with Mason County Middle School placing second.
It marked the eighth year the indoor track team has opened its season at College Park.
