Lady Cards stay on a roll

The George Rogers Clark girls volleyball team notched its seventh consecutive victory Wednesday night with a 2-0 sweep of Deming at Norton Gymnasium.
Clark won the first game 25-23 and then completed the sweep with a 25-21 win on the final set.
Clark coach Robyn Curry praised her team’s perseverance after playing two games in two nights.

“It has been a tough week and it’s going to get tougher,” she said. “We played at Bracken (Tuesday) night, home tonight, home tomorrow and then (the) varsity (team) heads to the Woodford tourney  Friday and Saturday. My girls just love to play the game. Even though we have had a tough travel schedule and tired, (they) were upset we only played Deming two games. I love their heart and dedication to this sport. I am very lucky and proud to coach such a great bunch of girls.”
The junior varsity and freshmen teams each have won seven games in a row and also defeated Deming on Wednesday night, setting the stage for the sweep by the varsity squad.
