George Rogers Clark’s Courtney White, right, gains control of the ball as West Jessamine’s Rachel Craycraft applies pressure Monday night in Nicholasville. The Lady Colts defeated the Lady Cardinals 6-1, dropping Clark to 0-4 on the season. Cora Kerber scored the Lady Cards’ only goal of the contest with 10 seconds remaining in the first half. Hayley Thornberry provided the assist for Clark.
"They are always a good squad and were one of the top 16 teams last year," Clark coach Jessica Laswell said of the Lady Colts. "That's the kind of team we wanted to play this year, it will only make us better. We are still trying to figure out the best spot for everyone and how we work best together."
"But we definitely showed some moments of greatness and I think we will just continue to see more of those as the season progresses and we learn how to play together.
The Lady Cards, who have been outscored 18-3 in their first four games to open the season, won’t be back in action until Saturday at Maysville Saint Patrick.
