The George Rogers Clark girls volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Campbell County in the semifinals of the 10th¿Region Tournament Wednesday night at Bracken County High¿School.
The Lady Cardinals lost 25-15, 25-10 and 25-17. Clark ended the season with a 20-11 record, while the Camels advance to tonight’s region final and will take on Scott. The Lady Eagles defeated Montgomery County 3-0 in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday night in Brooksville.
“I was very proud of my girls,” Clark coach Robyn Curry said. “We have worked very hard all season to learn to play and develop our skills. It was a very emotional locker room when it ended. My girls hate to see the season end. That tells you the caliber of girls I have they love the game and each other so much.
“I am very lucky to have such great ladies to coach. We will miss our seniors so much. We will step back, reflect, rest and then regroup in a few months. Some of my players will go on to winter sports, while some will move on to club volleyball.”
