The Winchester Senior League 15-and 16-year-old All-Star softball team defeated Louisville Valley Sports 7-0 in both games to win a best of three state series last weekend and advanced to the National Regional Tournament, which begins today in South Bend, Ind. The squad is the first girls softball team from Clark County to win a state championship and advance to regional competition. The team received a proclamation from Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham and Winchester Mayor Ed Burtner Thursday at Cardinal Heights.
