World Language Showcase

Yufang Zhou, an instructor with the Confucius Institute at the University of Kentucky, teaches students martial arts at the showcase Saturday at GRC. The institute's objective is to create a gateway for Chinese language, culture and art and to provide leadership for Chinese language programs in Kentucky classrooms. The students took tests in French, Spanish and German in interpersonal speaking, presentational writing and interpretive writing to qualify for the state event April 13 at the University of Kentucky. Lydia Kohler, the high school's French teacher, hosted the event.
